About Transport Services:

What is the difference between LTL and FTL transport?

LTL (Less than Truckload) is ideal for smaller shipments where you share the cargo space with other shippers, which is cost-effective. FTL (Full Truckload) means that the entire truck is utilized for your goods, which is faster and minimizes the risk of damage because no reloading is required.

At FCE Logistics, we track the status of your shipment daily. This gives you insight into the location of your goods and the expected delivery time, so you are always informed about the status of your logistical process.

This depends on the route and destination. For example, container transport from Europe to Asia or America can take several weeks, depending on sailing schedules and port rotations.

Advanced tracking tools that provide daily updates and full visibility, offering clear insight into the entire transport process.

Rail freight is a sustainable and reliable option for European and Asian corridor connections, especially for large volumes and long distances.

Yes, the team handles full customs procedures and all necessary transport documentation to ensure your shipment crosses borders smoothly.

Incoterms are international delivery terms that clearly define who bears which costs, risks, and responsibilities during transport. FCE Logistics can help you choose the right term for your shipment.

About Air Freight:

What are the advantages of air freight compared to sea freight?

The main advantage of air freight is speed. While sea freight can take weeks, air freight can reach almost any destination worldwide within 1 to 5 days. In addition, air freight is often safer for fragile goods, and insurance premiums are generally lower due to the shorter transit time.

We have IATA-trained staff. This means we comply with the strictest international aviation standards and can book directly with airlines, ensuring faster processing and better rates for our clients.

Air freight costs are based on the actual weight or the volumetric weight (also called chargeable weight), whichever is higher. Volumetric weight is calculated using the formula:
(Length x Width x Height in cm) / 6000.

The main documents are the Commercial Invoice, the Packing List, and the Air Waybill (AWB). Depending on the type of goods and destination, additional documents such as a Certificate of Origin or dangerous goods declarations may be required. FCE Logistics will guide you through the entire process.

Although airlines have limited liability (under the Montreal Convention), we always recommend taking out additional cargo insurance. FCE Logistics can arrange this directly for you.

There is no fixed price per kilo, as costs depend on several factors:

  • Destination: The further the flight, the higher the cost.
  • Volume vs. Weight: Air freight uses chargeable weight. If a package is very light but takes up a lot of space, you pay for the space (volume) rather than the actual kilos.
  • Fuel surcharges: These vary weekly.
  • Type of goods: Dangerous goods or temperature-controlled transport involve higher rates.
  • Average indication: For exact pricing, a tailored quotation is always required.

Air freight includes the entire process of transporting cargo by air. This process consists of:

  • Pickup: Collecting the goods from the supplier.
  • Screening: Security checks (X-ray) at the airport.
  • Documentation: Preparing the Air Waybill (AWB) and customs documents.
  • Flight: The actual transport in the belly of a passenger aircraft or in a dedicated cargo aircraft (freighter).
  • Handling: Customs clearance at the destination and last-mile delivery.

Air freight is the transportation of goods by aircraft. It is the best choice when speed and on-time delivery are crucial, for example for perishable goods or time-sensitive orders.

Delivery times vary by destination, but air freight remains by far the fastest option for international shipping, often taking days instead of weeks.

About Road transport:

What is the difference between LTL and FTL transport?

LTL (Less than Truckload) is ideal for smaller shipments where you share the cargo space with other shippers, which is cost-effective. FTL (Full Truckload) means that the entire truck is utilized for your goods, which is faster and minimizes the risk of damage because no reloading is required.

At FCE Logistics, we track the status of your shipment daily. This gives you insight into the location of your goods and the expected delivery time, so you are always informed about the status of your logistical process.
